We’re already one week into NaPoWriMo and hopefully you’ve already got some great poems started. If not, don’t worry, just keep coming back every day and the more you write the easier the ideas will come.
Today’s prompt comes from Will Ingrams who is new to the podcast but has written some great poems in response to other prompts on Poetry Non-Stop. Today he offers a prompt if his own: Write a short poem inspired by a seasonal event or appearance, natural or social.
This is a great prompt for a time of year when so much is changing and life is springing forth but there are events and appearances throughout the year. Some come with the changing of the seasons, others are more personal. This a prompt with many possibilities.

Here is Will’s poem:
Greeting
Snowdrops,
you are a
quiet excitement
shoehorned
‘tween festivities
and daffodils,
decorous
but bright.
Welcome.
Will Ingrams writes poetry, short stories and the occasional novel at a cottage in rural Suffolk. He has been shortlisted in several competitions and has a blog at willingwordwhirl.wordpress.com , where more poems can be found. Will’s flesh and blood avatar has spent time as a postman, a forecourt attendant, a teacher and a computer geek before turning to writing and growing vegetables.
Please share your responses to today’s prompt either in the comments or via email. The best submissions will be featured in future podcasts.
